Zheng He's Voyages to the Western Seas

Plot Synopsis

During the reign of Emperor Taizu of the Ming Dynasty, in order to consolidate imperial power, Emperor Jianwen reduced the power of the vassal kings. After the "Jingnan Campaign", Zhu Di ascended the throne and established the capital in Beijing. The country quickly revived and became prosperous. To "demonstrate the virtue and might of the Heavenly Kingdom", he sent Zheng He on seven voyages to the Western Seas, promoting commercial and cultural exchanges with other countries. During Zheng He's voyages to the Western Seas, he was opposed by some officials on many occasions and was attacked by pirates at sea, experiencing numerous hardships. During the last voyage, Zheng He wanted to cross the "Cape of Storms" to search for the Atlantic Ocean and the European continent from the sea. Despite the obstruction of the imperial court, he led the main force of the fleet in an attempt to cross the Atlantic Ocean.
