Plot Synopsis

Zhao Xiu'e, a rural woman who was six months pregnant, knelt down to beg the villagers for money, just to support her husband Chen Hongwei to go abroad for further studies. Unexpectedly, five years later, when her son fell ill, Zhao Xiu'e went to the provincial capital to look for her husband. For the sake of his future and status, Chen Hongwei had already secretly got engaged to the eldest daughter of the Xu family in Yuncheng without telling Zhao Xiu'e.
