Plot Synopsis

Gu Yeqiu, who was born into a family of military generals, lost her father at an early age. To protect her younger brother Gu Yixun, she disguised herself as a man and went to war, eventually becoming a great general who protected the country. After returning to the capital, her mother and younger brother, in order to enjoy wealth and honor, actually conspired to assassinate her. Emperor Jing Yulan wanted to betroth his sister to Gu Yixun. To protect her brother, Gu Yeqiu married into the imperial family in her true identity and gradually developed feelings for Jing Yulan. However, after her identity was exposed, Jing Yulan, in order to stabilize his rule, wanted to put her to death. Facing the poisoned wine, Gu Yeqiu saw clearly the true faces of her lover and relatives and was determined to make her own way.
