Plot Synopsis

Xie Mingzhao was wholeheartedly waiting for her fiancé Wei Changyuan to marry her. However, Wei Changyuan chose to break off the engagement and become the consort of the princess in order to climb the social ladder. After Xie Mingzhao's heart was broken, she fell in love with Pei Jin, a poor scholar who had been silently protecting her. Wei Changyuan used the eldest princess to rise to power and become a powerful court official, forcing Xie Mingzhao to get back together with him. Pei Jin joined forces with the eldest princess to help Xie Mingzhao escape from his clutches.
