The Water Monster in the Mountain Village

Plot Synopsis

On a night in the mountain village, Old Li heard cries for help coming from the riverside. He glimpsed a dark figure in the water dragging away a child. All he found was a coat - it turned out to be the coat of the child of the Zhang family who had gone out to work. When he returned to the village and found the child missing, the old people said it was caused by the "water monkey". After that, strange things happened frequently, such as the shadow of the monster, mysterious bloodstains, villagers "being possessed", and the "ghost" of the child appearing. After Old Li's investigation, he finally captured the "water monkey" and found that it was actually Lao Zhang who had secretly returned to the village to fish for protected fish during the fishing ban. To cover up his crime, he colluded with his son to play tricks and staged this thrilling farce.
