The Watchman on the Shu Roads

Plot Synopsis

In the early years of the Republic of China, Xu Rend ing, a night watchman, Feng Yanliu, a former courtesan who had reformed herself, and Han Xue, a painter of funerary portraits, were assigned by the "Fouji Gate", an attached investigation organization of the Zhongzhou Police Station. When guarding the corpses of tomb robbers who died in a landslide accident at the Jiuzhou Yao Ruins, they accidentally discovered the peculiarity of one of the corpses and got involved in the mysterious death case of the mother of a live-in son-in-law. Subsequently, they were also drawn into cases such as the serial disappearance case of young girls and the locked-room murder case of Biao Laohu.
