Plot Synopsis

Wen Nian's mother, Feng Yu'e, was a well-known beautiful young cook. She ran a restaurant called the Eight Immortals Pavilion. The signature braised pork in soy sauce of the Eight Immortals Pavilion had a delicious taste that no other meat could compare to, captivating countless rich merchants. The once small restaurant became more and more luxurious. Watching her mother lead guests into the mysterious door of the Eight Immortals Pavilion time and time again, Wen Nian grew more and more curious about the secret of the delicious braised pork. She begged her mother countless times, but her mother repeatedly declined with excuses.
