The Secret History of Emperor Kangxi

Plot Synopsis

The story takes place during the period when Emperor Kangxi is making an incognito private visit to the Prince An's Mansion. There, Emperor Kangxi encounters Qingge'er, the daughter of Oboi, and Nalan Xingde, the son of Mingzhu. Unaware of Emperor Kangxi's true identity, Qingge'er and Nalan Xingde are disrespectful in their remarks to him, which enrages the emperor. Fortunately, Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang arrives in time, and the two are spared from punishment. After that, Nalan Xingde enters the imperial palace and becomes Emperor Kangxi's study companion. Qingge'er has been passionately in love with Nalan Xingde all along. However, Nalan Xingde has already had Huier, his childhood sweetheart, in his heart. Qingge'er can only bury this affection deep in her heart. Nalan Xingde and his family are involved in trouble because of the inscription on the stele of miraculous achievements and sacred virtues drafted by Nalan Xingde. Meanwhile, among Emperor Kangxi, Nalan Xingde, Qingge'er and Huier, there are intertw
