Plot Synopsis
On August 15, 1945, the news of Japan's surrender reached Luohe, a small city in central Henan. The dilapidated Zhumu Street was ablaze with excitement. A telegram designated Luohe as the 16th surrender area in the country. On September 20, the Japanese army would sign and hand over their weapons here. Shopkeeper Chen of the woodware store, Lao Li of the grain and oil store, Boss Zhao of the cloth store, Boss Wang of the cattle market, and female student Lin Xiaomei, a group of ordinary Chinese people, with the hatred of national subjugation and the joy of victory, started a special "battlefield" on the ruins.
