Audience Reviews
It's incredible that the male lead has suddenly become so much more handsome than in the first season. Finally, he's not that hideous anymore. For a moment, he even looks a bit like Chen Guanlin... In the first season, he was the emperor and she was the queen. This season, the genders are reversed and they become the female emperor and the consort. There aren't as many sweet moments as in the first season, but I think the story is better than the first season. By the time I reached the last episode, I was actually touched: He sacrificed himself so that she could break free from the cycle of death, but the one who saved her couldn't bear the torment of missing him and actively returned to the beginning of the story to save him again - it turns out that the calculation at the beginning of the first episode wasn't the start of their time and space in this season. Their first encounter happened earlier, and she really was as he remembered before his death, barging in clumsily with a smile. Loving and saving each other in a cycle, who does it kill? It kills me.
Worse than the first season. In the first season, the character designs were relatively well-rounded. In the second season, it follows the "feminist" setting, but the female lead's character has become thin. Just constantly chasing after the husband is a bit boring. The male lead seems to have become more handsome, haha. At first, I thought they had changed actors, haha. Since "Chen Qianqian" (a fictional name), this type is really a common form. If you want to do this kind of thing, I hope there can be some plots that truly showcase the charm of women. Of course, it's too unlikely to achieve in a romantic drama. Overall, it's barely passable.
The male lead's look is more handsome than in the first part. He's paler and thinner, and his character has also improved. But the infinite loop? Have you watched too many American blockbusters?
Just finished watching "The Female Crown Prince" and came to watch this. By comparison, this one should at least be half a star higher than that one. It's 2.5 (since there is no half-star option on Douban, I have to force it to be three stars to show that it's higher than "The Female Crown Prince"). In this series, the biggest problem is that the female lead is love-struck, has no skills, doesn't make progress, and lacks perseverance. The biggest highlight is that she has to die countless times and start over from a save point.
It's a bit better than the first one. After the identity swap, the male lead looks quite cute in a submissive way. It's found that in this kind of time-travel ancient costume story, the ending is always that the female lead returns to the modern era and turns around to meet the male lead.
The opening reversal is quite interesting. The costumes, makeup, and props in this season look great, and the scenes have also been improved.
Good-looking, funny and sweet drama for meals
The male lead's looks suddenly skyrocketed several levels, and there's also a plot with an infinite loop that has no logic but isn't completely without logic, which is really addictive. Kissing each other all the time, it's really exciting to ship. Why is the female lead so cute? / Stomping feet!
The female lead's character setup is so stupid. Can't she stop being lovesick all the time and focus on her career a little bit?
Wang Luqing is really good at playing the innocent and sweet character. The several dramas I've watched are all good.
