The New Year's Eve Dinner

Plot Synopsis

Zhang Jianguo, the old man's wife, was found to have advanced liver cancer and didn't have much time left. In order not to burden the family, she chose to give up treatment. Her only wish was to have a New Year's Eve dinner with the whole family. The two were eagerly looking forward to it, but on the eve of the Chinese New Year, they received calls from the children saying that they wouldn't come home. In the end, Zhang Jianguo died alone in the emergency room. With Zhang Jianguo's burial approaching, in order to fulfill his wish, Liu Cuiping lied that she had won 100 million yuan and tricked the three children into coming home for the New Year.
