Plot Synopsis

After Emperor Chu Tiancheng of the Great Chu unified the world, in order to understand the people's conditions, he disguised himself as a beggar and went on a private inspection tour. He met Su Qianxue who had escaped from her arranged marriage, and the two had a one-day love affair. Six years later, when the emperor revisited the old place as a beggar, Su Qianxue brought their five-year-old son An'er to find him and asked him to take the son away. After the emperor asked An'er, he learned that Liu Jinlong, the son of the prime minister, had seized the property of the Su family and forced Su Qianxue to be his concubine. Su Qianxue sent the son to the beggar emperor in order to protect her son. The emperor immediately took his son back to the Su family to protect his wife, but unexpectedly, he was mistaken for a beggar by Liu Jinlong and the京兆尹 (Jingzhaoyin) and others, and was bullied in every possible way. Finally, the emperor revealed his identity, protected his wife and son, and punished the villains.
