Plot Synopsis

During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, under the leadership of the Communist Party, the people in Haiyang area on the Jiaodong Peninsula cooperated with the Eighth Route Army to carry out mine guerrilla warfare. They launched surprise attacks on the Japanese and puppet troops in the mountains, on the highways, at sea, and both inside and outside the Japanese military strongholds. Zhao Xiaodong, a militia guerrilla fighter, was good at imitating and modifying various mines and became a well-known "explosion king" far and wide. Under his leadership, there was a group of battle-hardened backbones who struck fear into the hearts of the enemies: Old Man Sui, a former member of the Boxers who was skilled in using muzzle-loading guns; Sui Haiqiong, a capable and shrewd female militia; Ge Bianliu, a sharpshooter with a hunter's background; and Haizi, who was an excellent swimmer but not a perfect soldier. In those turbulent years of war, Zhao Xiaodong became involved in emotional entanglements wi
