Plot Synopsis

A young man didn't listen to the advice and wantonly caught and killed soft-shelled turtles, angering the ancestor of soft-shelled turtles and violating taboos, resulting in continuous strange things in the family. Xiaoliang caught wild soft-shelled turtles in the pond behind the village to sell for money in order to raise funds for his seriously ill grandmother's treatment and save enough betrothal gifts to marry his sweetheart Xiaoyu. One day, he caught a rare giant old soft-shelled turtle. Despite the dissuasion of Xiaoyu and the elderly in the village, he insisted on taking it home and planned to stew it to nourish his grandmother's body. After learning about it, his grandmother firmly opposed, saying that such old soft-shelled turtles usually live in pairs, and killing one of them will surely bring retribution.
