The First Uprising in Wuchang

Plot Synopsis

An accidental event triggered a revolution that was bound to happen; a fledgling force that was not yet fully developed overthrew the ruling class that had reigned for thousands of years in one fell swoop; a regime seized with the blood and flesh of revolutionaries was eventually handed over to the counter-revolutionaries. From the start of the Wuchang Uprising to the establishment of the Provisional Government of the Republic of China, during the "83 days of bloodshed and turmoil", the revolutionaries led by Sun Yat-sen overthrew the feudal dynasties that had ruled China for thousands of years. However, lacking unified ideology and leadership, they finally handed over the fruits of the revolution to the old warlords.
