Plot Synopsis

The wheat seedlings, malt, and the siblings in the wheat field are all of marriageable age. The wheat field is in love with Rhododendron, but Rhododendron's family either asks her to have an exchange marriage or demands a high betrothal gift. Chunsheng comes from a well-off family but faces layoffs at the factory and is eager to get married. Through the matchmaker's introduction, he goes to the wheat seedling's family. Because of Chunsheng's good conditions, malt is determined to agree, and the two quickly set the wedding date. To help her younger brother marry Rhododendron, the wheat seedlings are introduced by the matchmaker and marry Jiefang who has two children. Only after marriage does she learn that the children are his comrades', and she takes good care of the children. Chunsheng is laid off because of being lazy and slippery, so he and malt blame Jiefang. Later, malt is with Erzhu in the village. Finally, Jiefang and the wheat seedlings help the whole family live a happy life.
