Plot Synopsis

Li An, who was on his way to take up his post, was killed by the local tyrants instigated by the corrupt officials in Yu County by the Bibo Lake. The silver carp - Red Fish in the Bibo Pool of the Guanyin Bodhisattva failed to rescue him in time and could only hide him in the Bibo Cave. Then, Red Fish herself disguised as Li An to serve as an official in order to find the real murderer. With her wisdom, she continuously saw through the schemes of the wicked and deterred the evildoers. Later, because Red Fish couldn't face Li An's mother and the infatuated Zhao Xiu, she resolutely gave up three golden scales to bring Li An back to life. After being resurrected, Li An acted with vigor and determination. With the assistance of Red Fish, he was even more powerful. The two joined hands to repeatedly outwit and outfight the corrupt officials, local tyrants and bandits in Yu County in order to investigate the major cases. Eventually, they eliminated the violent and brought peace to the area.
