The Descendants of the Eight Banners

Plot Synopsis

Set in the late Qing Dynasty, in the ancient capital of Beijing, there was a down-and-out wealthy family named Gui Shan. They mortgaged their real estate to get a white sparrow. This white sparrow led to a series of twists and turns and touching stories. The sisters Dani and Erni were tricked into the prince's mansion because of the "death of the white sparrow". As a result, Dani was raped by the prince and died with hatred. Erni, however, was not afraid of violence and fought back bravely. Finally, with the help of her friends, she escaped from the prince's mansion and rushed to the place she had longed for in her heart, a place without evil but full of kindness and freedom. The whole play reveals the corrupt scene of the Qing government in the late Qing Dynasty, which bullied the weak and feared the strong, was weak and incompetent, and oppressed the common people. It also shows the spirit of a group of patriotic people and ordinary people rising up to resist and fight for freedom.
