The Burma Road

Plot Synopsis

When contemporary high school student Yang Jiang was traveling in western Yunnan, he accidentally met the centenarian road builder Old Shan Ye. He listened to his recollection of the past events of road construction in 1938. At that time, Heimer, A Si, and A Nv'er were still teenagers. They followed their families to participate in road construction, accompanied by hunger, miasma, and poisonous insects every day, and had to face the life-and-death tests of landslides and falling rocks. An accident intertwined the lives of several children - they grew up together in the hardships and difficulties of road construction and formed a deep friendship. The camera turns to modern times. Yang Jiang's parents followed the photos sent by their son and retraced the Burma Road under the leadership of Old Shan Ye, personally experiencing the changes of the times and social progress.
