Plot Synopsis

In a rural area called Fenghuangling in Northeast China, there was a beautiful woman named Qi Niang. She adopted three orphans, one named Tian Ye, one named Li Changshun, and one named Lang Mu. She also had her own biological daughter named Kui Hua. She brought up the four children to adulthood with her breast milk, sweat, and painstaking efforts. When they grew up, Tian Ye and Kui Hua got married, and Li Changshun and Lang Mu became husband and wife. After Tian Ye was demobilized from the army, he went into business in the city, while Li Changshun was elected as the village head of Fenghuangling. This family composed of several surnames is full of family affection and warmth. Although Tian Ye and Li Changshun, the two orphans who grew up on Qi Niang's milk, are not biological brothers, they are closer than real brothers.
