Plot Synopsis

After being awakened by a girl named Xiaoman, the canal-suppressing water beast Lingxi, which had been slumbering for a hundred years, transformed into a young man with a rhinoceros horn. With the mission of guarding the ancient canal and curiosity and wariness towards the newly-built canal, he embarked on a fantastical journey following Xiaoman. Through ingenious plotting and fantastical elements, the plot realizes the integration of the canal cultures of ancient and modern times across time and space. It not only showcases the landscapes of the ancient canal and the water-control wisdom of the ancients but also presents the water and engineering wonders on the contemporary canal to the audience in a natural way.
