Plot Synopsis

On the eve of liberation, entrusted by the Central Committee, Liu Shaoqi went to Tianjin, Kailuan and other places to prepare for restoring the economy, developing production as soon as possible and establishing New China. In 1957, Comrade Liu Shaoqi led an investigation team to go south to conduct on-the-spot investigations on the issue of resolving contradictions among the people. In 1959, after being elected President of the state, Liu Shaoqi maintained close ties with the masses, educated his children, and was diligent, honest and clean in performing his duties. In 1961, when the country was suffering from severe economic difficulties, Comrade Liu Shaoqi went to the rural areas of Hunan and his hometown to conduct in-depth investigations at the grassroots level to learn about the hardships of the people and help them overcome difficulties.
