Plot Synopsis

In the seventh year of the Hongzhi reign, the emperor held a grand selection of imperial concubines across the country. Two young girls from the same village, Yuanyang and Zhuzhu, called each other sisters and went to the imperial palace together. For these young girls, if they were successfully selected as imperial concubines, they could rise to prominence regardless of their original social status, so the competition was naturally fierce and the conditions were extremely harsh.
