Plot Synopsis

The mute disciple of Shaolin learned martial arts to avenge his father's death. He started from carrying water and chopping firewood, painstakingly building up the foundation of his internal strength. The scenes of him mastering martial arts by hitting wooden men often appeared in his dreams. The mute disciple discovered the locked-up old strange man, Fa Yu, in the forbidden area of Shaolin. Fa Yu didn't seem like a Shaolin monk, but touched by the mute disciple's care, he instructed the mute disciple in martial arts even though the mute disciple wasn't yet qualified to learn Shaolin martial arts. During this period, the mute disciple's senior fellow apprentice broke into the Wooden Men Lane but was defeated due to insufficient strength. Seeing the mute disciple practicing martial arts alone with fierce moves, Nun Wumei taught him the Snake Wing Eight Steps to regulate his temperament.
