Plot Synopsis

During the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty, Japanese pirates repeatedly launched invasions. However, the Yan Party controlled the imperial court and had no intention of fighting against the Japanese pirates. Qi Jiguang, a famous general in combating Japanese pirates, though having the aspiration to serve the country, was powerless in the face of the difficult situation of the times. Amid the burning, killing and looting by the Japanese pirates, the young Yue Kong lost his mother. Fortunately, he was rescued by the Big-footed Monk and taken to the Shaolin Temple. Fifteen years later, when Yue Kong accompanied the abbot to attend the Sea Sacrifice Ceremony, he encountered on the way a Japanese swordsman named Feng Yu and a girl named Ichiban Hideko.
