Plot Synopsis

Liu Pao, the head of a folk art troupe, was used and involved in a conspiracy to assassinate Empress Dowager Cixi when he led the troupe to perform in celebration of the grand wedding of Princess Baixue, the beloved daughter of Empress Dowager Cixi. Liu Pao took the princess hostage and managed to escape. During their flight, the two gradually fell in love with each other. When the princess accompanied Liu Pao to Taiwan to track down the whereabouts of Hong Kun, she accidentally got involved in the conflicts and disputes among the Qikeng.
