Set Off at Dawn

Plot Synopsis

Kazakh boy Yerkin wants to win the prize money of the horse race to help his sister fulfill her "wish" to participate in a dance competition in Beijing. However, during the venue setup, an accident causes the newly arrived volunteer teacher Su Xin to have a car accident. Yerkin's father sells Yerkin's little horse used for the race to repair Su Xin's car, which makes Yerkin hostile to Su Xin's arrival. Su Xin learns the truth from Saya and asks Saya to tell Yerkin that as long as he makes a wish facing the red flag when the sun rises, his "wish" will surely come true. Yerkin is skeptical and closes his eyes looking at the fluttering national flag.
