Renewed Bond of Dust

Plot Synopsis

In the 1980s, the custom of arranged marriages prevailed in the mountains of northern Shaanxi. Jingjing and Dongzi fell in love but Dongzi's mother opposed. Hei Fenghuang tried to matchmake Jingjing to marry Niuba in an arranged marriage. Jingjing resisted, but her mother agreed for her son's marriage. Jingjing's mother was ill, and Dongzi went to see a doctor. The two said goodbye reluctantly. After being forced to marry, Jingjing resisted and left home, which led to the deaths of Gaiyan and Jingjing's brother. Dongzi searched for Jingjing. Eight years later, Dongzi brought Jingjing and their child home. Dongzi's mother put down her prejudice and the family was reunited.
