Plot Synopsis

In a small courtyard house in the southern part of Beijing, there lived the family of Elder Pei, a family renowned for mounting paintings. The eldest son, Shi Ping, granddaughter Miao Miao, the third son, Shi Jun, and Elder Pei's beloved daughter, Shi Juan, all lived together under the same roof, spanning three generations. Shi An, the son of the boss of a real estate company, moved into the villa he had bought. In the small south-facing room lived Elder Zeng, who had been Elder Pei's childhood friend, and his wife, Liu Caihua. It happened to be Elder Pei's birthday. Shi Juan and Liu Caihua discussed introducing a partner to Elder Pei.
