Plot Synopsis

Zhou Hongmei hid her newly born son in the basement of her employer's villa, lied that the baby had died prematurely, and fed him with stolen milk powder and leftover food. The child never saw sunlight all year round, his bones were distorted, yet he regarded his mother as the only god. Twelve years later, a deformed desire sprouted. He began to peep at the girl upstairs and then sneaked into her bedroom. When Zhou Hongmei found the bloodstains, her first reaction was to wipe away the fingerprints and cut up the bedsheets. On a stormy night, the teenager strangled the resisting girl and sank her body into the swimming pool. When the police broke into the door, Zhou Hongmei was stuffing her son into a hidden compartment, lying with trembling fingertips. Under the iron window, the deformed child saw the sun for the first time, but could no longer embrace the world.
