Plot Synopsis

During the Song Dynasty, Chen Shimei, a native of Hejian, and Qin Xianglian were childhood sweethearts and pledged their lives to each other. However, the Qin family despised Shimei for his humble birth and was unwilling to marry their daughter to him and instead married her to someone else. In a moment of desperation, Shimei and Xianglian made an appointment to elope. Unexpectedly, on that very night, a bloody massacre took place in the Jinyun Embroidery Workshop where they were supposed to meet, and their good friends, the Xiaoxia couple and their whole family, were brutally murdered without any reason.
