Plot Synopsis

Misfortune always befalls those who are already suffering, and a hemp rope always breaks at its weakest point. Xiaohua, who was only eight years old, lost both her parents in a construction site accident. She lived with her aunt's family, but was not liked by her uncle and was even driven out of the house, fainting on the roadside. Chen Gen, though his family was poor, was kind-hearted. He took Xiaohua home, which was strongly opposed by his son and daughter-in-law. The family had a fierce conflict because of Xiaohua's arrival. However, in the end, they were touched by Xiaohua's diligence, simplicity and kindness, and accepted her, giving the poor Xiaohua a safe haven.
