Plot Synopsis

The Colosseum in the French Concession. Ruan Liangzhi, a starlet in Seoul, must select a winner for a mission: if she fails, her identity as a spy will be exposed and she will自爆 (self-destruct, which is not a standard term and may need to be adjusted according to the context) and die; if she succeeds, she will be forced to marry the unmarried posthumous child Kang Shaoqi. Due to the wrong delivery of a jade pendant, she brings back Kang Shaoqi. After the latter comes to power, he becomes demonic and the two live separately. Later, Ruan meets "A Xing" who resembles her old love Chu Nanfeng. The scarless appearance arouses suspicion.
