Plot Synopsis
In the thirty-third year of the reign of Emperor Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty, the Japanese pirates were rampant, and the people were living in dire straits. The young and handsome Qi Jiguang, with a passion for patriotism, led the Qi Family Army to launch fierce attacks on the Japanese pirates and killed their leader with his own hands. For a while, the Qi Family Army became widely renowned. Qi Jiguang became a meritorious minister in the imperial court, a sage in the mouths of the common people, and a hero in the eyes of young girls. Yan Song held great power in the imperial court and tried in vain to make Qi Jiguang a powerful and useful ace in his hand. He curried favor with people internally to stabilize the imperial court affairs; externally, he balanced the development of the situation of combating the Japanese pirates. By not suppressing the Japanese pirate chaos completely, Yan Song could then make full use of the huge military provisions and amass great wealth from the "Japanese pirate chaos". Zhao
