Plot Synopsis

In December 1945, the second peace talks between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party (the Chongqing Negotiations) kicked off in Chongqing. Lu Feng, a 19-year-old radio operator, took a 5W small radio named "Little Five" and followed Vice Chairman Zhou Enlai to Chongqing, being responsible for the work of sending and receiving secret telegrams that were frequently exchanged among Yan'an, the front line and Chongqing during the Chongqing Negotiations. After arriving in Chongqing, Lu Feng joined the secret radio station group established by Li Wenfeng, the head of the radio station. The secret radio station group was set up in the Eighth Route Army Office in Hongyan Village. Just as everyone had finished setting up the telegraph room, Ye Zhiqiu, a veteran agent of the Kuomintang who had once served as the head of the Telegraph Monitoring Section in Beiping, arrived with his men.
