Plot Synopsis

In the late years of the Northern Song Dynasty, Princess E'nuo, the youngest daughter of Emperor Huizong, went to the Hanlin Academy by herself to select the young Grand Scholar Tan Yi to enter the palace as her teacher and fell in love with him. Unexpectedly, Tan Yi's attempt to assassinate the treacherous official Cai Jing failed and he had to flee to the ends of the earth. Emperor Huizong ordered E'nuo to marry far away to the Western Xia. However, Princess E'nuo defied the imperial edict and left the palace. Taking her maid Zhuzhu with her, she went straight to Anxi in southern Fujian to look for Scholar Tan.
