Plot Synopsis

The story of Crown Prince Qin Li who gave up the position of heir apparent for true love with Liu Ruyan, but suffered from his wife leaving him, his son despising him, and his whole family humiliating him during their ten-year marriage. Qin Li was willing to do housework as a commoner, while Liu Ruyan had an affair with her childhood sweetheart Wang Lin in secret. Their son Qin Xiaohu also despised his poverty, and the whole family attached themselves to Wang Lin. Even when he revealed his identity as the crown prince, they still humiliated him in every possible way. It was not until Qin Li returned to the palace due to his father's critical illness that the Liu family continued to trample on his dignity when they were invited to attend the coronation ceremony.
