Plot Synopsis

Xiangzi's sister, Aji, owed a huge debt of one thousand silver dollars to the Red Gang because of gambling and faced the punishment of being thrown into the Huangpu River. Xiangzi stepped forward and intervened as a rickshaw puller. With his superb gambling skills and calm mind, he challenged the gambling game set by the Ax Gang at the Paramount Casino. Xiangzi found that Aji's debt was due to the elaborate design of the Ax Gang, which used the psychology of gamblers to set up a trap to lure him into it. He got involved himself, pretended to be a novice, gradually exposed the cheating tricks of the Ax Gang, won back the debt and forced the opponent, Brother Crocodile, to fulfill the gambling agreement, losing one hand.
