Plot Synopsis

Long Shaoyu was the only son of Long Wu, a wealthy merchant in Yangzhou during the reign of Emperor Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty. He was active by nature, mischievous yet clever and likable. He had a fiancée named Hong Mei. Although Shaoyu had always been reluctant to accept her as the daughter-in-law of the Long family, she was still deeply in love with Shaoyu and constantly helped him out of difficulties. Because Shaoyu accidentally saved Hong Tianzhao's father, he somehow became the hall master of the Heaven and Earth Society and thus suffered the tragedy of his family being wiped out. Hong Mei risked her life to save him and inspired Shaoyu to regain his fighting spirit. He was taken as the last disciple by Nie Sanyang and was made to practice Drunken Fist to avenge the dead Long Wu.
