Plot Synopsis

Su Yan, a girl from the Miao ethnic group, came from a family of witch doctors in southern Xinjiang. Her father entered the imperial palace to serve as an imperial physician by virtue of his art of Gu. Three years ago, Yu Jiuyuan, the Third Prince, was assassinated and died when he went to southern Xinjiang to suppress the rebellion.
