Plot Synopsis

In the fourth year of Jianzhang, when the emperor went on a hunting tour, he was assassinated. The King of Ning instigated Zhang Ali, who looked similar to the emperor, to act as a substitute and sit on the dragon throne. The seriously injured emperor was mistakenly recognized by Liu Ya'er, the fiancée of Zhang Ali, and was saved. Worried about the safety of the queen in the palace, the emperor risked revealing his identity in order to let the queen recognize the wolfish ambitions of the King of Ning. However, the King of Ning framed him and imprisoned him in the name of an assassin one step ahead, demanding that the emperor hand over the token of the imperial guards.
