Plot Synopsis

He Yuzhu is a chef in the canteen of a steel factory. He is kind-hearted and chivalrous but outspoken, and is known as "Sha Zhu" (Silly Zhu). Qin Huairu, a steel factory worker, lives in the same courtyard. She is filial and capable, with a son and two daughters. However, her husband died due to a work-related injury, and life is rather tough for her. Xu Damao, a projectionist in the steel factory, also lives in the courtyard. He is selfish and is an adversary of Sha Zhu. There are also three respected old workers living in the courtyard, known as "the Three Elders". Whenever there are neighborhood disputes in the courtyard, they will coordinate and resolve them. Although Sha Zhu seems unreliable, he is actually kind-hearted.
