Plot Synopsis

In the seventh year of Daxia, foreign enemies attacked Yumen Pass. The nine generals of the Qin family, despite receiving twelve imperial edicts ordering them to retreat, still held their ground and fought to the death against the imperial orders for the sake of the common people. On the fiftieth birthday of Qin Zheng in Qinjia Village, the villagers were looking forward to the triumphant return of the nine generals. However, those who came back brought nine coffins containing only the clothes and hats of the dead, for all nine sons had perished. The treacherous court official Bai Lianying took this opportunity to deceive the emperor by using the pretext that the nine sons had disobeyed the imperial orders and only their clothes and hats had been returned, intending to stir up trouble. The fate of the Qin family was hanging in the balance, and the situation was extremely precarious.
