Buddha Jumps Over the Wall

Plot Synopsis

There are four stories in "Buddha Jumps Over the Wall". The first story describes how a mother and son escaped the danger of losing their lives by offering a bowl of soy milk to Jigong. The second one tells that Jigong helped a vegetable peddler escape the harassment of usurers. The third one writes about how Jigong turned cherries into a luminous pearl and taught a group of robbers a lesson. The last one depicts how Jigong cleverly played tricks on the corrupt prime minister and his son who were acting recklessly. Through the good deeds of Jigong, Li Hanxiang criticized all kinds of evil deeds of the powerful and the bullies, thus letting the common people vent their grievances.
