Plot Synopsis

On the night of the full moon, Ning Caichen, a frail scholar on his way to the capital to take the imperial examinations, was hurrying on his journey when he was tripped by a skeleton in the Black Mountain Forest. He turned his head and saw a white fox staring at him, so he hurriedly got up and fled from this eerie forest. While being chased by the fox demon Nie Xiaoqian, Ning Caichen encountered the seriously wounded deputy general of the Imperial City Department lying on the ground.
